Vintage Heavy Painted Hairpin Antique Hairpin

Vintage Heavy Painted Hairpin Antique Hairpin. Not sure what this hairpin is made from. Appears to have been dipped in tan paint, then brown paint which seemed to be wiped off leaving streaks. Smooth and shiny, thick and heavy. Some writing on the inside of one leg.
