    and assistant secretary William P. Johnson. Certificate is about 9” x 12.” Black print with orange overprint/underprint.

    The S.E.J. Cox Company was formed in 1920 by S.E.J. Cox as an investment company in Houston, Texas. The company promoted oil field properties in Oklahoma and Texas, with the claims that the properties were rich in oil and gas. The company was apparently a fraud, and was forced out of business by 1930, after the Federal Government learned that S.E.J. Cox had been imprisoned for the same fraudulent promotions years previously. (see attached photo of Mrs. S.E.J. Cox, and the “The Wild Cat.”)
